Before you say, "Guacamole? In the middle of November?" hear us out. Today, November 14th, is actually an important national holiday: National Spicy Guacamole Day! And when someone mentions a holiday related to guacamole, we don't ask questions. We just find, and then devour, alllllll the guac.
After-all, there really isn't a bad time to enjoy a bowl of fresh, homemade guacamole. The avocado is full of healthy fats to help nurture dry winter skin and stabilize blood sugar, the cilantro is a potent antioxidant and cleansing aid (did you know it's even been shown to help detox heavy metals from the body?), the lime juice offers a solid hit of immune-boosting Vitamin C, and the jalapeño ignites that internal digestive fire - a very helpful aid when eating raw foods during cold weather.
But we couldn't just leave it there. We infused this tasty recipe with a dropperful of our broad spectrum Veggimins Hemp CBD Extract. CBD Infused "Mellow" Spicy Guacamole
Makes 1.5-2 cups
3 small-medium hass avocados (make sure they are nice and ripe!)
1 roma tomato, diced
1.5 Tbs fresh lime juice
1 handful of cilantro leaves, chopped
2 Tbs minced sweet white onion
1 small clove garlic, crushed
1/2-1 whole jalapeño chile, including seeds, finely chopped*
1/2 tsp cumin - or to taste
1/4 tsp salt - or to taste
*You can also sub in cayenne pepper or crushed chile flakes to taste
1. Smash avocados with a fork in a medium bowl, or with a potato masher. Don't over-mash, you want to acheive a coarse mash.
2. Mix in diced onion, jalapeño chile, tomato, garlic, lime juice, salt, cumin, cilantro and Hemp CBD Extract.
3. Taste, and add more lime juice, salt or spices, if desired.
Serve with your favorite organic tortilla chip, raw crackers, on a salad, or in purple cabbage taco boats like we did here.
