Next Level Matcha Oatmeal Recipe
Happy National Oatmeal Day! Oatmeal is one of those staple cold weather comfort foods many of us couldn't imagine life without. It's filling, nutritious, affordable, and each bite feels like a hug from the inside out. It's also really easy to spruce up with loads of superfoods, which is always a win in our book.
One of our best tips for creating that perfect bowl of oatmeal is to utilize our Dastony stone ground nut butters for an ultra creamy and flavorful effect. It's a serious recipe hack for taking your average bowl of oatmeal from drab to fab instantly. Who wouldn't want that?! It's also a no fuss way to add in healthy fats for a more stable blood sugar throughout the morning. Simply stir in your favorite Dastony butter of choice after your oatmeal is done cooking, but while it is still nice and hot. Once you try it, you'll never go back.
In honor of National Oatmeal Day today we are sharing a delicious Next Level Superfood Matcha Oatmeal recipe utilizing our amazing whole coconut and cashew butters. Deliciously creamy and vanilla flavored, with a subtle hint of grassy sweetness from matcha, not to mention mega amounts of antioxidants and polyphenols. Enjoy!
Next Level Superfood Matcha Oatmeal
3/4 cup oats (we used organic gluten-free quick oats)
1.25 cups water
1 Tbs hemp
1 tsp chia
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1-2 tsp coconut sugar or stevia (optional)
1 Tbs Dastony coconut butter
1/2 tsp matcha green tea powder - culinary OR tea grade
Toppings: berries, Dastony cashew butter, plant based milk of choice, maple syrup, cinnamon, etc.
1. Heat water in a saucepan until near-boiling point. Pour in oats, hemp seeds, chia, cinnamon, and coconut sugar and cook for about 1 minute on low heat.
2. When fully cooked, stir in coconut butter until creamy, and matcha green tea
