    Tomato Sandwich

    Published: 7/30/2012 10:58 AM
A recipe by Lisa Viger that received rave reviews! The onion bread actually tastes like real bread, and is dehydrated just enough to stay soft. No cardboard consistency here! Just be sure to not let it stay in the dehydrator too long. All this sandwich needs is a nice thick layer of fresh heirloom tomato, some lettuce and onion, and of course the delicious cashew mayo. We might even add a thin slice or two of avocado, but that's just because we're avo addicts!

  • Tomato Basil Soup

    Tomato Basil Soup

    Published: 7/9/2012 11:52 AM
Simple, satisfying, and sooooo good! Tomato basil soup just seems to sound good no matter what. This particular version by Lisa Viger combines a base of tomatos with celery and carrots, and a bit of zip and heat from onion, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if you dare!). Basil and olive oil are added for the ultimate Italian flavor. This soup is light and perfect for the summer if served chilled. Don't dismiss this recipe in the winter-time however, it is also great gently warmed up on the stove! Lisa also suggests that you try out her blended soup recipes with less or no added oil for a lower fat version if you wish.
